Dr. Kayla Porcelli was born and raised in the coastal city of Portland, Maine. She obtained her B.S. in Pre-Veterinary Science with a Minor in Ethics from the University of Maine, followed by her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University. While Colorado was amazing, having grown up by the ocean she knew something was missing. After practicing at a small animal practice in Fort Collins, CO she moved to Lee County, FL to enjoy the sun, sea, and good vibes!
As a new resident of Lee County, she is extremely excited and humbled to have found a position at such a highly praised veterinary hospital. Dr. Porcelli hopes to bring her special interests in dermatology, internal medicine and preventative care to Baywood Veterinary Hospital. Above all, she is passionate about developing long-lasting relationships with her clients and their pets, and believes very strongly in the importance of educating people about pet care so they can help ensure they live long, healthy lives.
Dr. Porcelli lives with her fiancé, Jake, an old springer spaniel named Bud, and two rescued kitties with big personalities! When not at work, she enjoys getting outside to hike, hunt for seashells (a hobby she’s very glad to be reunited with!), and explore new places. She also loves attending live music events and trying the latest craft brew.
