Dr. Sue Peters

Dr. Sue Peters was born and raised in the Chicagoland area.  Ever since she can remember she has been fascinated with animals.  Her very first career choice was that she wanted to become a veterinarian.  Dr. Peters remembers interviewing her neighborhood veterinarian, Dr. Ken Page, when she was in the first grade, about her future career choice.  As the years went on she worked for him as a technician for a few years, then later he became her mentor in veterinary school and career.  Dr. Peters was also an associate of his at his practice for the majority of her time practicing in the Chicagoland area.

Dr. Sue Peters obtained a double major in Pre-Veterinary medicine and Biology with a minor in Chemistry at The University of Findlay in Findlay, OH.   She then obtained her doctorate of veterinary medicine degree from the University of Illinois in 2001.   For the first 13 years of her career she worked in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois.  In the spring of 2014 she relocated to sunny southwest Florida in pursuit of a better quality of life!  Dr. Peters is very excited to become a team member at Baywood Veterinary Hospital.

Professionally Dr. Sue Peters has a special interest in veterinary dentistry.  She is a huge advocate of oral health in her patients.  Dr. Peters has had the opportunity to work with very talented board certified veterinary dentists and she has taken many continuing education courses to help her further develop her dentistry skills.  In addition to her love of veterinary dentistry Dr. Peters also loves to educate her clients on the best care for their pets, she is also a big advocate of preventative medicine (inside and outside the mouth!).

Personally Dr. Sue Peters loves to spend time with her husband Greg and her 3 doggies (Captain, Dazni & Lacy).  They all love to go on walks together and to go boating.  Dr. Peters also enjoys cooking, gardening and horseback riding.
